Malkia is a high yield potential. With right agronomic practice you can get 40-50 fruits per season.

It's a semi dwarf plant; starts bearing fruits from 50-80cm height.. 

Fruits are firm, 1.5 - 2kgs in weight, have long shelf life and are ideal for long distance transportation.. 

Fruit quality is excellent. Fruits have:

• Red flesh
• Great taste
• Wonderful Aroma
• A very sweet (13-14% sugar content) 

Female plants produce short oblong fruits while fruits of Bisextual or hermaphrodites flowers are elongated.

Flowering starts after 5months from transplanting . Fruits can be harvested in 8-11months from transplanting depending on climate. 

A packet of 1gram contains  50-60 seeds (depending on seed size and weight). Seed requirements : 10grams per acre 

Its best to raise seedlings and transplant; takes two months in the nursery

Recommended row to row distance is 2 to 2.5m and plant to plant 2m.. 

As papaya plants gives fruits continuously, it requires a high dose of fertilizers. Recommended basal dose : 1kg well fermented compost per one m2 to be repeated every year. Side dressing with about 250g per plant of basal fertilizers is recommended after every 6 months
