Benefits of QUIKSIL
• Improves spray coverage
• Allows for a reduction is spray volume
• Provides an improvement in pest control as the spray can reach difficult to wet
areas e.g. underside of leaves; hiding places for insect pests etc
• Improves canopy penetration.
Timing of Application
QUIKSIL can be applied at any time, mixed with pesticides or micronutrients or for
Red spider mites control when infestation of mites has been noticed.
Compatibility
QUIKSIL is compatible with most pesticides and nutritional products. It is however
advisable for users to conduct a compatibility and phytotoxicity trial on small scale
before large scale use is done.
Mixing
Clean the spray equipment
Fill the tank with 2/3 of required water volume; add the pesticides/nutritional products
(as per label instructions of the specific pesticide or product) followed by QUIKSIL.
The best PH range for optimal performance for the final spray mix should be between
5-8. Sprays should be utilized within 24 hours after mixing.
Re-Entry period: Same as that of the pesticide sprayed
When used alone, the Re-entry period for QUIKSIL is 4 hours or as soon as the spray
dries on the leaves.
PHI.
Same as that of the pesticide used in the spray solution.
Mode of Action:
An organosilicone molecule contains surfactant ingredients. These methylated silicones
are made of inert ingredients with superior surfactant properties allowing them to wet,
suffocate and disrupt physiological processes in mites. Quiksil used in spray solution
containing insecticide to enhance rain fastness, alters solubility relationships to
greatly increase absorption of pesticide through the plant cuticle.
QUIKSIL AS A MITICIDE.
QUIKSIL being an organosilicone can also be used for cost effective control of the
Tetranychus urticae (red spider mite or two spotted mites) in roses
How it works-As an activator, the excellent surface activity of organosilicone enables it
to soak the red spider mites, this disrupts the cuticle of the spider mite causing the mite
to dehydrate and die through desiccation.
